How much does artificial grass cost?
Every garden is different, so the only way to know your price is a quote for your job. But here’s a rough guide to help you plan.
Typical UK prices
| Grade | Fitted price per m² |
|---|---|
| Budget | £30–£50 |
| Mid-range | £50–£70 |
| Premium | £70–£100 |
For an average UK garden of about 70 m², that guide gives a range of roughly £800–£3,500 fitted. Source: MyBuilder artificial grass cost guide (updated August 2026). These are national figures, not a quote.
What changes the price
- Size of the area – bigger lawns cost more overall but often less per square metre.
- Grass quality – pile height, density and backing.
- Groundwork – removing old turf, levelling slopes and building the base is a big part of the cost.
- Access – if waste and stone have to go through the house, it takes longer.
- Edging and extras – borders, steps, curves and shock pads for play areas.
